EXCLUSIVE DIGITAL CONTENT PARTNERSHIP
Stream4 Media to Provide Video Programming for PeopleJam
Video and Social Networking Site, Launching in Late-September
Los Angeles, CA and Old Lyme, CT, September 19, 2007 – PeopleJam, a new
online video and social networking website for individuals who share an interest
in achieving a great life, today announced a partnership with Stream4 Media,
LLC, a leading provider of high-quality, personality-driven video for the exploding
Web and handheld video market. Through this partnership, Stream4 will
be providing PeopleJam – which will launch in late-September – with
more than 500 episodes of programming that will be available exclusively to
PeopleJam members and syndication partners.
“PeopleJam is systematically partnering with the top producers of short
form video targeting people who want a happy, healthy, fulfilled life,”
said Matt Edelman, CEO and co-founder of PeopleJam. “Stream4’s
programming is a key ingredient in this strategy, offering our online and mobile
audiences some of the most valuable information available, presented by some
of the top personalities and brands in the health and personal development fields.”
Stream4 Media is bringing an unparalleled group of branded video series to PeopleJam,
including planned offerings from Harvard Health Publications; Gary Vaynerchuk,
the Internet’s most recognizable wine expert; Minute-Clinic, the nation's
largest retail healthcare center provider; Top Chef star Andrea Beaman; Joe
Graedon, co-host of the long-running public radio show The People’s Pharmacy;
and CrossFit, arguably the world’s most popular fitness website.“Web
and mobile videos are where magazines were back in the heyday of service journalism
in the ’70s and ’80s,” says Mark Cohen, a veteran magazine
editor who founded Stream4 Media with Dan Carey and Jim Astrausky of Essex Television
Group, Inc. “There’s this huge hunger right now for quick, engaging
content that helps you get in shape, eat better, or save yourself a trip to
the doctor. Except now instead of reading it, you get to watch it – and
watch it right there while you’re standing in the gym or supermarket –
and this partnership with PeopleJam is providing us with a means to reach the
ideal audience for the content we are producing.”
“Online and mobile media requires a totally different mindset from producing
long-form documentaries for the networks – you have to grab and motivate
the viewer in two minutes,” says Astrausky, whose Essex documentary for
Discovery HD, St. Bernard Parish – about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana – was selected as one of the Best Public
Affairs documentaries of 2006 by Cable World Magazine.
Adds Carey: “Stream4 brings together a unique combination of an eye for
talent, years of program development and packaging experience, the ability to
achieve high production values while maintaining a low cost structure, a particular
expertise in health programming, and maybe most important: capacity. We couldn’t
be more excited about our position in the market right now.”
